I adore winter light so was so excited to shoot my first winter wedding at Hengrave Hall a venue I had visited many times but never in the winter time. This venue is always such a treat for photography and I find something new every time I visit. I had only met Emily and Mark over Skype ahead of the wedding which is unusual for me, however, I felt like old friends with them within minutes as they are the most relaxed, lovely couple.
They had chosen a truly gorgeous colour scheme, perfect for a winter wedding… full length navy dresses for the girls (with furry stoles) and super smart navy tuxedo’s for the guys with bow ties. Tudor Rose florist created some incredible flower displays and bouquets (as they always do), and Amelie’s Kitchen provided the most stunning gold, ivory and black cake (they really do make the best wedding cakes ever!). Emily and Mark chose ‘snow confetti’ as opposed to petals – a pretty incredible spread of white which made for some spectacular confetti shots! Let’s not mention the editing afterwards however (those little flecks got everywhere!)
This wedding was one of my favourites to photograph last year and I will certainly recommend winter time as a fabulous time to get married – you can’t beat the gorgeous soft light!
Here’s a few photos from the day….special thanks for my second shooter Paul Summerfield.
