Michaela & Samuel – Hengrave Hall Wedding
I first met Michaela and Samuel back in 2014, when we met up to discuss the photography for their big day and instantly I knew this wedding was going to be lovely as not only were they a really nice, laid back couple but they had picked one of my favourite venues, Hengrave Hall (where I also married a few years ago!). Steeped in history, this Tudor mansion is a photographer’s dream with beautiful, grand rooms, wonderful grounds with it’s own gorgeous little church on-site. Hengrave Hall opened in 2010 and since then has been one of the most desirable and sought-after venues in the East (hosting a number of celebrity weddings!).
On the day, I arrived early as I like to take time getting the lovely detail shots and take some relaxed photos of Michaela getting ready. The Queen Elizabeth suite is where the bride gets ready and it’s a simply stunning room with wood panelling, four poster bed, a huge floor-standing gold gilt mirror and stunning views over the grounds. Michaela had chosen a beautiful Justin Alexander dress and Jimmy Choo shoes and of course, being in the beauty industry, I knew Michaela would look a million dollars, and she certainly did! Her five bridesmaids wore full length dresses in a pale mauve/grey colour with the guys in smart navy tailcoats. The morning itself felt so relaxed, one of the benefits of having the whole wedding day at one location.
Michaela and Samuel were married in the gorgeous church on site which is a minute’s stroll from the hall itself. The church has a mezzanine gallery where St Mary’s Choir sung out creating a fabulous atmosphere and a performance of Ava Maria during the signing of the register was a real treat. Afterwards, all the guests moved on to the West Terrace for drinks and canapés in the glorious October sunshine whilst I took the newlyweds off for their couple portraits. The grounds at Hengrave Hall are simply stunning, and there are an abundance of lovely areas to use including the pretty gardens and the grand front entrance porch with it’s lovely light, ideal for portraits.
Thank-you Michaela and Samuel for asking me to be the storyteller of your very special day, I enjoyed every minute!
What Michaela & Samuel said….
I was delighted with this lovely testimonial…
“Clare provided photography for our wedding on the 2nd October 2015 at Hengrave Hall. From the outset she made us feel very relaxed and even though we had only met a few times, it felt like we had known her for years. She was very professional and captured every aspect and emotion of the day ensuring we could look back on these in years to come. Once we saw the final photos we were amazed at the quality and attention to detail in every photo taken. Thank you so much for helping to make our day a special one and capturing photos we will treasure forever”.
I work throughout the East of England, so if you are looking for a Suffolk Wedding Photographer or a Norfolk Wedding Photographer, please do get in touch, I would love to hear from you!
