Laura & Ruaidhri are such lovely, joyful, gorgeous people, and from the first moment I met them, I just felt such a warmth from this lovely couple (who always greeted me with hugs whenever we met!). They had booked Woolverstone Hall on the outskirts of Ipswich for their big day, and Laura had once worked in the events team there so knew exactly how to make this gorgeous building in to her dream venue. As an Ipswich wedding photographer, I feel lucky to have so many wonderful venues to work at, and this is definitely up there as one of my favourites.
Laura and Ruaidhri transformed this incredible building in to a fabulous party venue. During the week, the site is home to Ipswich High School for Girls but I think it’s a real hidden gem in Suffolk as a venue. The rooms are huge, light and airy with big windows, and the natural stone of the building, the vast and incredible grounds over looking the River Orwell, offer so much in terms of photography.
The morning was spent getting ready at the holiday apartments at Tranmer House at Sutton Hoo where Ruaidhri works, so it was fun to have access to this historic building full of features, and Laura had to exit the building looking gorgeous to all the visitors looking on!
Aside from the gorgeous venue, the day really was so full of warmth, smiles and love, and just a pleasure to be a part of. Some couples you just know are made for each other, and Laura & Ruaidhri certainly are.
A big thanks to Paul Ward for second shooting for me that day!
