Donna & Ryan – Abbot’s Barn Suffolk Wedding
I first met Donna and Ryan quite early on in my career as a wedding photographer, and instantly liked this lovely couple who already had two beautiful girls. They hired me based on liking my small portfolio at that time, and I’m so grateful that they did, as it meant a lot in those early days to have people put their faith in me!
On the big day, Donna and her bridesmaids, including the couple’s two children, decided to get ready at the gorgeous Ixworth House, a lovely Edwardian B&B not far from the church. This was a perfect choice with lovely boutique rooms to use and wonderful owners who gave the run of the place to the bridal party.
Donna wore a beautiful lace wedding dress with a lace train, and pretty cream flowers & dried lavender bouquets by Tudor Rose in Bury St Edmunds, my favourite florists! Instead of a traditional bridal car, Donna, her Dad and bridesmaids headed to the church in a fabulous vintage bus by Felix Coaches.
The couple were married in St Mary’s Church in Ixworth – I absolutely love churches like this – beautiful, large and light. Then on to Abbots Barn in Denham for the reception – a privately owned old barn in the heart of the Suffolk countryside surrounded by farmland. There are some lovely areas here to use for photography in the gardens next door, not to mention the fabulous barn doors which make a great backdrop. I met Donna and Ryan the day before at the barn to say hello ahead of the wedding, and Ryan was hard at work decorating the barn and putting all the touches together for the big day.
Donna & Ryan wanted photography up to the cutting of the cake (a gorgeous cream and metallic silver creation made by the incredibly talented Helen from Amelie’s Kitchen).
Congratulations Donna & Ryan and thank you for asking me to be part of your day, it was a privilege!
